This course provides a comprehensive introduction to computer programming using C++, with the core essence of developing algorithmic thinking and problem-solving skills to translate real-world problems into computational solutions. Students learn fundamental programming constructs including data types, control structures, functions, arrays, pointers, structures, file handling, and foundational object-oriented programming concepts. Emphasis is placed on systematic problem analysis, algorithm design, code implementation, testing, and debugging using modern programming tools. Through hands-on lab exercises, programming assignments, group projects, and an individual complex engineering problem, students develop the ability to design efficient, modular, and reusable code that addresses engineering and mathematical challenges. Upon successful completion, students will be equipped with the essential programming competencies required for advanced courses such as Data Structures and Algorithms, and will be able to apply C++ programming to solve real-world problems with consideration for resource efficiency and user needs.
