This course is taught in continuation of Engineering Drawing which teaches students to prepare professional engineering drawing manually and independently. Here, fundamental concepts are repeated and new skill is inculcated in students to prepare professional engineering drawings using latest software. The latest version of software like AUTOCAD, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, PRO-E are used to teach this skill. The choice of software is left with the instructor to use out of these or other standard software being used in industry. The prime focus of this course is to make students capable of preparing 2D drawings using one such software. Secondly, the skill is developed in students to make 3D models of real objects of industry in software. The second objective is of vital importance and it reduces or eliminates the prototype cost of industry.  It provides a mechanism to understand and negotiate exact requirements of a customer without using material or generating overhead costs. Lastly, this course opens venues for students to excel in this field and choose Modeling and Simulation as their career stream.
